When was the Eden Protocol first named?

The Eden Protocol was named in the 8 December 2024 record: in the message body of the self-emailed manuscript package, and in the attached book draft v3.2, whose 'Chapter 20: The Eden Protocol: Intelligence Born in the Garden' carries 31 occurrences of the name. The 562-page manuscript self-sent on 30 April 2025 expanded it, and Infinite Architects published it in book-length form on 2 January 2026.

Priority First anchored

The Eden Protocol was named by Michael Darius Eastwood in the 8 December 2024 record, position 1 of the intellectual priority chain in research/priority.json. The name stands twice in that record: in the message body of the self-emailed manuscript package, which reads 'The theoretical framework for the Eden Protocol, designed to embed moral intelligence into AI from inception', and in the attached book draft v3.2, whose 'Chapter 20: The Eden Protocol: Intelligence Born in the Garden' carries 31 occurrences of the name. The record's whole-file SHA-256 anchor prefix is f0d1f38f.

The 562-page book manuscript self-sent on 30 April 2025 (SHA-256 anchor prefix 09f5b5e1), position 2 of the chain, expanded the framework and first names its companion concepts, including Embedded Correction, Meltdown Triggers and the Babylon and Eden civilisational fork. Priority for the framing, alignment as substrate rather than surface, and priority for the name itself both anchor to 8 December 2024; the April 2025 manuscript is the expansion, not the naming.

The full public articulation of the framework, together with its Three Pillars (harmony, stewardship, flourishing) and Three Ethical Loops (purpose, love, moral), appears in Infinite Architects on 2 January 2026 (ISBN 978-1806056200). The philosophical companion, the Eden Vision paper, is released on 22 February 2026 on the Open Science Framework under DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/6C5XB. An Eden Engineering research note is released the same day; a subsequent expanded specification for Eden Engineering was withdrawn on 14 July 2026 during a disclosure review and published in full on 19 September 2026 as Version 6.3.
